Finally, Luo Smashed Siemens Fridge Today!
0At last, Luo just did what he promised. Today, he went to the Siemens HQ in Beijing and smashed the fridge at the building entrance area.
How did I know? Yes, just check on Luo’s Sina Microblog and you will find this. According to Luo, Siemens person said there would be someone in charge to communicate with them, however, after 30-minute’s waiting, Luo did not meet with any Siemens people except for the guards. Even more, finally, police arrived and stopped Luo.
Siemens!!! I really don’t know what their PR’s doing! They’ve got many chances to turn the situation around and they didn’t! They’ve got so many opportunities to make the whole thing right and even to build more solid brand image among Chinese. Now! They just act like small local companies (I mean those Chinese companies which know nothing about PR).
Well, the only reason More >
American TV series are back!
0Today, I was just checking on the new 美剧 (American TV series) on Youku. You know what? I found Modern Family on the site. And even more, all three seasons, updated to S03E08, are all high-resolution!
Ok, now, those sites seem work hard to get those TV series for those Chinese, who really, really love those TV series so much! Yup, there are a lot of lovely people working hard every week translating the scripts into Chinese and updating for those long-awaited Chinese fans. And there are also many forums for those fans to communicate on their favorite TV series. And, even more, there are huge numbers of students take language notes of each episode so to improve their English! Yup, in China, even in some very small cities.
As to me, now, I am following those TV series:

A Typical and Not-Typical Buddhist
0Affected by my mom, I became a buddist when I was in the college. And it was just the beginning to learn and understand the nature of buddism. Yes, it is a long way to go.
Though, I am not a typical pious buddist in many ways: I can’t live without meat, not chanting diligently and struggling for inner peace all the time, I hold strong belief in Buddha. I know that life is a path of spiritual practice.
When I was in Beijing, I often went to Yonghe Lama Temple, a place I could go for more than 10 times a year. I remembered there was a very old lama living there, a Mongolia who can barely understand Pu-tong-hua. He was an amiably listener all the time. But from one day several years ago, his phone call and door never answered.
I also remembered, years ago, on the street More >
Astroturfing and Water Army
0It was eleven years ago when I went on the internet for the first time. Back then, everything is budding. I cared most was the quantity things, like the number of forum threads or users. Ten years passed, now, things became exactly opposite. I should be quite careful about the quality things, or, to be accurate, I should be quite careful about the realness of the website contents.
In China, we called those corporate astroturfers as “水军”, directly translated as “Water Army”, and for those government astroturfers, “五毛党”(50 Cent Party). While, I have no interest in those complicated politics things, so, here, I’d talk solely on those corporate astroturfers.
For me, corporate astroturfering seems a toiling over computers in mechanical manners. ‘Cause mostly, astroturfering firms usually take outsourced work from big PR agencies and the core things for them, is execution. I heard before, in those firms, hundreds of people More >
International? not so interested…
0Several days ago, CCTV-9 aired a program with a hostess introducing Shanghai city. The program focused on telling those foreign travelers how INTERNATIONAL the city is!
Is it really interesting to be international? I’ve been abroad for several times and really hate to see the international things, like skyscrapers with those multinational brands advertisements on, bars filled with American hit songs and western-food restaurants. If global village is like this, I will definitely want to move out…
International thing like convenient transportation should be an attractive, but the local thing, which is resulted from long the history, should be the most fascinating thing for travelers, I think.
So, I love Shanghai just because the city’s memory, being rooted in its old street, old buildingsand old people…
Dao Lang – “Love is You and Me”
0I can’t imagine that after many years, I will become a fan of Dao Lang! A girl who used to be deeply obsessed with rock music could fall in love with so-called POP music? But, in fact, it really became true, just after I watched Dao Lang’s concert in this June.
I got drawn to the concert by my girl friends, who both were die-hard fans of Dao Lang! They could sing ALL his song and were so excited about the concert! Finally, I was there, with thousands of fans in the stadium. Dao Lang did not say much on the stage, actually, he “talk” in previously recorded VCR as the opening of each song in the concert. Only I could say that all these opening talk were so touchy, leading to deeper understanding of these songs. I believed there wasn’t a More >
Siemens China Social Media PR – The worst of the year?
0What can we say about Siemens’ social media trouble in this year? Many nitizens already gave their answers and voted this for one of worst PR event in this year.
Let’s take a look back of what happened after National Holiday.
After long-time silence, Siemens finally made their further move on the matter (I’m right, Siemens PR must have been crazy in developing the action plan: conference call with global, internal discussion with high executives and most importantly, key messaging development.)
So, on October 14, Siemens China PR agency – Bluefocus called Luo Yonghao. They discussed about the key points of statement for all consumers. In the phone talk, the agency person talked in good polite and showed his respect for Luo Yonghao. And Luo Yonghao also suggested his viewpoints specifically. Luo Yonghao said, actually, the problem should be a good opportunity for Siemens to further consolidate its branding in More >
In Xi’an, try 96688 for train ticket first
0In Xi’an, train tickets booking is a very interesting experience.
After finishing my personal matters here, I decided to buy the train ticket back to Shanghai the day after tomorrow. According to Diangpin.com, there is a ticket booth nearby the People Theater on north avenue.
For most of Chinese, train ticket booking is kind of kind of nightmare, even now. Whenever I think of buying train ticket, a picture of a long queue, flour air and bad-attitude staff emerges. Even worse, it is a usual thing that after waiting so long and in the end, there is no train ticket available.
While, this time, I thought it would be different, since it is not a holiday season and I also got the back-up plan – if there’s no hard sleeper, I will take soft sleeper instead!
After 25 minutes’ bus, I arrived at the ticket booth. And More >
Dinner tonight
0Tried braised potato tonight. While, it tates super good but a little too spicy. I think it is not so heathly to have spicy food during autumn.
Tomorrow, I will head to Xi’an by train, which takes around 16 hours from Shanghai to Xi’an. Hope everything’s going to be smoothly so that I could have enough time to enjoy the local food.
Challenge for Siemens China’s Social Media PR
0I doubted that if Siemens China’s PR team enjoyed their National Holiday. A war of Siemens China and Chinese netizens broke out on Sina microblog recently.
All is started from a post of Luo Yong hao, who is an opinion leader and also famous for his straight talking. The message is posted on September 27, saying “Both Siemens fridge and washer bought three years ago didn’t work now. I won’t buy this wrenched brand ever. Electronic appliances made in Japan are more trusted. ”
The post resonated from hundreds of netizens, and then, Luo Yonghao found that many had the same problem – unless users close the door hard, Siemens fridge door can’t close tight and often stay open, leading to the heavy frosting,. Luo Yonghao has 1 million followers and of course, I am one of them. And this is the first time that I heard about Siemens More >
